Life
Hello, all. It's been a long road since I was exiled to Canada in our junior year. We lived in an isolated, uninsulated old house with no running water, a coal furnace, and a woodstove. We're talking poverty and dysfunction. I put myself through college in Nova Scotia and returned to New England in 1980 with a thousand dollars, a backpack, a satchel of water-safety manuals, three water safety instructor certificates, and a newly minted three-year, general, (worthless) bachelor degree. ook a job in Alaska. Been in the Anchorage area ever since. Had two nice kids and worked at the Anchorage Daily News for 12 years. It was a wonderful job. I was office manager in the newsroom--budget planning, expense management, projects, and rubbing shoulders with the most fun people on the planet. Traveled a little (Morocco, France, Mexico, Hawaii.) Had a bad marriage. Finally got divorced in 2004. Earned a Masters Degree in teaching, December 2005, and have been teaching fourth grade since. My kids are both in university, one local, one in Montana. So, the cycle repeats. What's happening with you?
